There are so many voices I hear, to the point it sounds like a cacophony. My heart is troubled over the confusion, hurt, pain, discord, division, blaming and much more. It’s like the world is waiting for Dad and Mom to come home while the kids have been in charge of themselves. Then the parents wisely, maturely restore peace, balance, problem solve…. bringing security and love back to the home. I know Father God has answers, solutions, wisdom in abundance. Time and again I’ve experienced it. Particularly now I’ve had to make the effort to slow down, be still, unload my anxiety, concern, negative thoughts, unloading the cacophony in my own mind… THEN I can hear His calm, still but clear voice within my soul so much easier. It’s not without effort. I cherish the times and so worth it. My journey to wholeness continues.The following is from July 1 in Jesus Calling- It resonated with me, helped me. Maybe someone else too can relate. The battle within and without is ferocious at times but is won one heart at a time at the feet of Jesus.I AM LIFE AND LIGHT IN ABUNDANCE. As you spend time “soaking” in My Presence, you are energized and lightened. Through communing with Me, you transfer your heavy burdens to My strong shoulders. By gazing at Me, you gain My perspective on your life. This time alone with Me is essential for unscrambling your thoughts and smoothing out the day before you.Be willing to fight for this precious time with Me. Opposition comes in many forms: your own desire to linger in bed: the evil one’s determination to distract you from Me; the pressure family, friends, and your own inner critic to spend your time more productively. As you grow in your desire to please Me above all else, you gain strength to resist these opponents. Delight yourself in Me, for I am the deepest Desire of your heart.Psalm 48:9; Deuteronomy 33:12; Psalm 37:4
